Sunday – The Bangles, Dorothy, Gary Clark jnr. Capital Cities and Third Eye Blind
I had my first kiss to Eternal Flame, I was 13 years old, it was with Natasha Pilbrow at Hannah Fletches’s party the day before I left for senior boarding school. (Or public school as we say in England, however it means the opposite… ) Plucking up the courage to ask one of the most beautiful girls as the slow dance came on, I asked, and she said yes, filled with fear and butterflies, The Bangles’s Eternal flame bellowed out and then was silenced as her lips met mine for the kiss of the century!
Anyways shooting and hearing The Bangles with most of the original Bangle babes playing was a real treat. Fifteen thousand people will agree with me I am sure. They were amazing, belting out crowd singing hits that everyone my age remembers…. 🙂
Then I went to shoot rock n’ roller Dorothy an amazing singer who really captured the crowd in what can only be described as one of the best performances of the day also. Her brand of sultry sexy rock n’ roll is something everyone should experience… I love Dorothy, she is rock and roll in the most truest sense….
Then it was back to The Oaks stage to shoot Gary Clark Jr. who’s performance was amazing, his mastery of the guitar blues reminded me of BB King playing the rock blues. I got to meet Gary as we both left the festival together. Nice one brother…
Then it was back to the Sycamore stage to shoot Capital Cities Ryan Merchant and Sebu Simonian from Los Angeles who wowed the fans with hits from all their albums. The boys dazzled their audience and put on a really good show of classic pop rock.
After sitting and watching Robert Plant by side stage play some old Led Zeppelin hits and some new tracks with his new band, I went off to shoot Third Eye Blind.
I hope you enjoy the pictures, and I look forward to being back and covering Arroyo Seco Weekend 2019.
